Since graduation, Raul worked as a Highways Engineer for Atkins. In this role, he worked as part of the Highways Agency Area 6 Term Maintenance Team, and obtained experience in the management and technical aspects of highway schemes. He then worked for May Gurney as a Design Engineer, where he acted as leading designer for basement designs, extensive temporary works designs, and slope stability schemes for Network Rail |
| Raul is currently doing an Engineering Doctorate, with the funding of the EPSRC and Arup Geotechnics, at UCL in the subject of “Basement Design, Instrumentation and Monitoring and Back Analysis”. As part of this project he is developing his interest in monitoring and instrumentation systems, with emphasis in new technologies and the links of these to risk management and value creation within projects. He is also developing an interest in numerical modelling, including the use of 3D finite element modelling packages. |
