Jim Cook

 

Jim currently undertakes the Project Principal role on several key and major projects.  This team is currently involved in major projects in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Asia. Jim has extensive experience in site investigation design, design of foundations and substructures (including deep basements), earthworks and ground treatment design, assessments of structural stability and soil structure interactions, input into masterplanning, as well as temporary works design and design of monitoring regimes for adjacent structures and ground movements.

Jim is a former Chairman and current Chief Executive of the AGS (Association of Geotechnical & Geoenvironmental Specialists); is the current Chairman of the Ground Forum; and sits on the committee of the BGA (British Geological Association). With the AGS, Jim has been involved in the production of numerous guidance documents.

Jim is also a Principal Author of the 2007 ICE Specification for Piling and Embedded Retaining Walls.  He has been a guest lecturer, conference speaker and author of technical papers.
