About the Young Engineers Bursary Programme:

What?

The Geotechnical Challenges in Urban Regeneration conference bursary scheme for young engineers is aimed at supporting the attendance of engineers in the profession.

Applicants will receive:

1. A Young Engineers delegate fee of £100 + VAT (standard delegate rate is £799)
2. A stipend for accommodation and travelling expenses to be paid to the applicant under the following guidelines:
a) £250 for those whose home address is within the M25 around London
b) £375 for those whose home address is in the UK outside the M25
c) £450 for those whose home address is in Europe outside the UK
d) £600 for those whose home address is outside Europe

Who?

The bursary scheme is open to young engineers with up to ten years postgraduate experience in the profession, from countries across the globe. Applications from members of the profession who have started their careers later in life (less than ten years experience) are also welcome. Applicants must be working in the fields of consulting, engineering, construction or research.

Applications are sought particularly from those unable to gain corporate or institutional support to attend.

How?

Applicants are invited to submit their CV, accompanied by a 200 word statement outlining how they plan to develop their career in foundations and ground engineering within the next 10 years.

Applicants will be judged by a committee of at least four members. Up to 60 applicants will be selected to receive financial assistance to attend the conference.  Any chosen applicant who has submitted a paper  that has been selected for presentation at the conference will also receive an additional premium to fund their attendance.
