Professor of Foundation Engineering and Earth Retaining Structures Second University of Naples


Alessandro Mandolini for Geotechnical Challenges 2010 Alessandro has authored over 90 papers for National and International conferences and Journals. He graduated in Civil Engineering in 1989 at the University of Napoli (Italy), and gained a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering in 1994. Since 2001, Alessandro has been Professor of Foundation Engineering and Earth Retaining Structures at Second University of Naples.


Alessandro is member of the UNI Italian Sub-Committee SC7 for Eurocode 7, and the following Committees of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering (ISSMGE): 

  • European Regional Technical Committee ERTC3 (Piles) 
  • European Regional Technical Committee ERTC10 (Evaluation of Eurocodes 7), 
  • International Technical Committee ITC18 (Deep Foundations)


He was also a State of the Art Reporter on Pile Foundations at the XVI Int. Conference of ISSMGE (Osaka 2005).
