David Sherwood is Chairman of Bachy Soletanche Limited. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, past President of the EFFC and past Chairman of the Federation of Piling Specialists and Ground Forum. |
Since graduating in 1968, David has specialised in ground engineering and geotechnics. In his early career he worked in site investigation, field testing and instrumentation. He then moved on to foundation construction and ground improvement. For the last 20 years he has been involved is a number of major infrastructure projects involving all forms of foundations, ground treatment and tunnelling. He is a strong advocate of modern approaches to contracting and seeks to promote collaborative working between all stake holders in each project where he is involved.
David is particularly interested in bringing young engineers into the geotechnical field and encouraging them to develop broad based experience both technically and geographically.
