Walter Schneider Dipl. Ing.

Walter Schneider graduated at Graz University of Technology, Austria, in 1981. With 23 years experience in the construction industry, he has held an array of career positions at ILBAU and STRABAG from assistant project manager up to Head of Department for international tunnelling works. In 2007, Walter was appointed Vice Rector at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Austria.

Walter has been involved in a number of major tunnelling projects including the Washington Metro, USA; Metro Copenhagen, Denmark; Manapouri Tailrace Tunnel, New Zealand; Gotthard Basetunnel, Germany. He is a member of ISRM and the ITA Working Group 14, Mechanized Tunnelling.
